Projects on The Uncertainty Principle
Here are the choices of projects that are available for Phase II and III.
- Completeness and Riesz Bases of reproducing kernels in model spaces by Baranov.
- On the Closure of Characters and the Zeros of Entire Functions by Beurling and Malliavin.
- Weighted Exponential Approximation and Non-Classical Orthogonal Spectral Measures by Borichev and Sodin.
- Spectral Gaps for Sets and Measures by Poltoratski.
- The Hamburger Moment Problem and Weighted Polynomial Approximation on Discrete Subsets of the Real by Borichev and Sodin.
- On the multiplier theorem for Fourier transforms of measures with compact by Malliavin.
- Meromorphic Inner Functions, Toeplitz Kernels, and the Uncertainty Principle by Makarov and Poltoratski.
- Polya Sequences, Toeplitz Theorems and Gap Theorems by Mitkovski and Poltoratski.
- Completeness of Sets of Complex Exponentials by Redheffer.
- On Fourier Frames by Ortega-Cerda and Seip.
- A Problem on Completeness of Exponentials by Poltoratski.
- Unconditional Bases of Exponentials and of Reproducing Kernels by Hruschev, Nikolskii, and Pavlov. (Present only Section 1-5 in Part 2 and Sections 1-2 in Part 3
Participants selected to work on these projects will have to prepare two one-hour long lectures based on the contents of the paper. These lectures will be presented at a week long workshop. Additionally, they will have to write a 5 page summary of the topic before the meeting. The workshop will take place Monday August 5 to Friday August 9, 2013 in Atlanta, Georgia.
Interested participants should email wick[at]math[dot]gatech[dot]edu with a ranking in terms of interest of the project before May 3, 2013. Due to funding limits, there will be 10 participants selected to attend the workshop. Selected participants will be notified of the project they have and the exact details for the workshop.
